The Robins are Gone

Funny how the sounds of nature change with the seasons. The crickets are quieting down. The frogs have not done the ribbit ribbit song for awhile now. The birds aren't chirping quite as much in the mornings and today as I was watching a gathering of blackbirds eating seeds from my wildflowers I realized, there are no more robins around. I know that the arrival of the North American Robin in Ohio during the Spring is a sure symbol of warmer weather but I did not realize that their absence is also a sign of fall. Who knew? And, who knows where they go to?

WANT POOL

I am so ready for a swimming pool. We had one at our other home. I it was the deal breaker with my husband for building this house that we would have a pool.
Depending on the weather we might be swimming by 4th of July! It will be rectangular as in the above pix but sadly no waterfalls since the ground is a lot of fill and they may crash into the pool.
Lots to design, plant, re-plant, design, etc., so limited posting on this blog. Visit my other blog http://momkiss2u.blogspot.com for current rants.

You think this video has nothing to do with gardening until you've seen how much damage they can do to a yard, tree, electric line, etc. I wish they made one for deer.

Passion Flower

This girl wants to grow a Passion Flower. It is pretty in an ugly sort of way. I like its unusual centerpiece the most. It appears this is a pretty tough plant to germinate and grow but I want to try it. http://www.passionflow.co.uk/ has a wealth of information but no references on where to buy the plant or its seeds. I wonder if it could survive our cold Ohio winters and often drought conditions of summer. Can anyone help?
